Team Lead assignment is not applied when creating sub-tasks from Planning Board or Task Board

Steps:
1. In project admin, set team assignees based on component
2. Open the Planning Board or Task Board view
3. Click the "Add sub-task" button on a task with the component set
4. Enter the task and click "Create and close"

Observed:
The component of the sub-task is set to the component of the parent task but the assignment for the newly created task is the project default, not the component default. When I create a new sub-task in JIRA (and assign the component manually) it automatically assigns the sub-task to the component lead correctly.

Expected:
The sub-task should be assigned to the component lead that is passed from the parent task to the sub-task.
