Summary

The pop-up dialog box for Assign and Comment are in different sizes depending on where it is displayed.

Environment

JIRA Software 7.1.4 (Server)

Steps to Reproduce

1. In a JIRA Software project, create a board
2. Select any issue in the board and open the Assign or Comment window
3. The Assign/Comment window is 540 pixels wide
4. In a JIRA core project, go to issue navigator
5. Select any issue in the issue navigator and open the Assign or Comment window
6. The Assign/Comment window is 810 pixels wide

Expected Results

Assign/Comment window in JIRA Software board should be the same size as the one shown in issue navigator.

Actual Results

Assign/Comment window opened in JIRA Software board is smaller size (540 pixels) compared to the ones opened in JIRA Core issue navigator (810 pixels)

It should at least 810 pixels wide as 540 pixels wide looks really small and makes it difficult to view/edit longer comments in the description box. Is there any reason why it is designed this way?

Workaround

1. Override element.style in the JIRA Adminstration > System > Announcement Banner: How to Change the Assign/Comment Dialog Box Width in JIRA
2. or Change the Dialog.WIDTH_PRESETS sizes in JIRA Install/atlassian-jira/includes/jira/dialog/Dialog-min.js
