Issue Summary

Duplicate comments are intermittently added to Jira issues without a clear cause. The duplication can happen immediately after the original comment is created, up to a few hours after that. This can happen when comments are added from the customer portal or when they are added from the agent view.

Steps to Reproduce

It has not been possible to reliably replicate the issue.

Expected Results

Duplicate comments are not added.

Duplicate comments are intermittently added to Jira issues.

Workaround

While there is no single workaround to avoid duplicate comments, there are some steps that can be taken to limit the potential causes of the duplications:

• Review any automation rules for unintended configurations that could cause duplicate comments.
• Make sure you are using a supported browser.
• Check if your browser has plugins/user-scripts installed that can interfere with Jira or form fields in general.
• Verify if your network has any proxies configured that might be replaying the requests to Jira. If a proxy is configured, consider allowing your Atlassian Cloud site to bypass the proxy.
