Validator for the Epic Link field fails intermittently for bulk edit operations involving sub-tasks

Issue Summary

Whenever you include sub-tasks in a set of issues that will be part of a bulk edit operation, Jira should display a validator that prevents you from editing the Epic Link field by displaying the following message:

• A sub-task cannot be assigned to an Epic

However, this validator will fail intermittently, allowing users to trigger such operation.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Select a group of issues that includes sub-tasks via JQL.
2. Click on Tools > Bulk change all issues.
3. Select all issues, click on Next.
4. Select the Edit issues operation.

Expected Results

• If you try to edit the Epic Link fieldJira will display the A sub-task cannot be assigned to an Epic message.
  

Actual Results

• No message is displayed and you can select the Epic you want to assign the issues to.
  

  Workaround

Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
