Problem Definition

In the Jira Server mobile app (IOS and Android), the mobile app has its own settings in terms of the event based notifications that end users receive. These are separate from the project notifications schemes that are defined by a project administrator within Jira Server and Data Center editions.

Suggested Solution

Have the mobile app honor the project notifications settings
OR
Provide some mechanism that allows Jira administrators to control the notifications that mobile app users receive about Jira.

Why this is important

Several good reasons to do this:

1. Mobile users will tend to get more and unexpected notifications than typically expected, and perhaps they do not realize they can control these from within the app itself
2. Consistent messaging experience between platforms
3. Administrators are expected to have control and manage what their end users see

Workaround

Currently mobile app users will have to manually adjust their own notifications levels from within the mobile app.
