    Description

      Hi Team,

Users would like to see these additional features to be implemented in Jira Mail handlers.

      • The mail handler for jira should have the feature to scan and process only unread emails.
      • In addition, offer flexibility for users to configure the mail handler to process the emails starting from a specific date.
      • Currently Imap mail handler is deleting the processed emails, which is not working as per documentation. This may be a related issue (Issue Report: JRASERVER-67745).

      Business Reason:

      • This is resulting in problems where new users would like to use mail handlers but at the same time would stick to use the standard Inbox without migrating old issues.
      • Same is applicable when organizations would like to use the old email boxes, but would like to process only recent data post configuration of mail handlers.

      Current Implementation:

      • Current implementation for incoming mail handler, processing all (read/unread) emails from the inbox (or specific folder) and creates ticket or add comments.
