Me: Awesome! Let's add the time tracking fields since we use those all the time

Hi Team, please enable the possibility to display the Time Tracking panel on the Kanban Board. This is very vital for the efficiency and productivity of our team. Would highly appreciate when this feature goes into Consideration.

I've spent too long trying to figure out how to work around this. It seems that all our customer fields can show up in the issue detail view on a board's backlog, but somehow the "estimation" fields are explicitly forbidden? It's very frustrating. I almost thought about switching to using story points, since those DO show up, but then I'm breaking the definition of story points. Oof.

We would very much like this feature so our developers are able to quickly see Time Estimation at a glance in the Issue Detail view.

Not sure why this one could not be implemented the same way as scrum board. But I hope to effort to add them is not too big, since the pieces were there.

Don't they expect Kanban board to track any effort?

There are not many Kanban teams in each case. And this may be one reason why they can not use Kanban more widely.

Although, we use the add-on "Epic Sum Up" in order to resolve this. There you got a Epic based display of time tracking related information of all issues in Epic.

And I was pretty much just going to write what @Brandon Gillespie wrote verbatim (nice job)!

We use the issue details view for quickly running down the backlog and editing major fields: priority, component, assignee AND estimate. We currently do this from a scrum board (because it can't be done from kanban board).

Per Vlad's comment, I can confirm that once added, time tracking fields now show up in the default issue screen for Kanban boards.

However, it still does not show up as an option when adding fields to the Issue Detail View.

You can also now add time tracking fields to the card layout in Kanban boards (this was a big issue for me); however, if I add "Original Estimate" to the card layout, it shows up in it's own line of text (which makes the card much larger). In Scrum boards, this field would show up as a grey badge to the side of the card; using this same styling for Kanban would be preferable.

            Greetings,

You can enable it. Go to Project Settings (@admin dashboard), go to Field Configurations, Find the Time Tracking section and click Screens (left side of screen). A list of screens that do not have it included are displayed. tick the required ones and save. It should now be enabled on those project pages you selected.

Given the fact that the kanban board recently got an update and you can have time tracking for task, you can pretty much do some SCRUMBAN from the kanban board

+1 Totally agree with Brandon Gillespie. We track issues for Operations and DevOps in Jira, and want to work off priority, but also need to estimate every request that comes in. I currently do this by using both a Scrum (project work, backlog grooming) and Kanban (triage, short-time tasks). If the estimate field were on the detail view I could move solely to Kanban board and use Scrumban.
