When using the Anonymizer tool, the usernames, the names, last names, emails and passwords of the users are not anonymized.

The suggestion is to include a parameter to indicate the tool to replace those values with a generic text like 'name of user', 'fakemail@fakemail.com' for email, the generic sphere for passwords (which is already suggested as part of the KB Retrieving the JIRA Administrator), support teams rarely need this information and it is sensitive data when the customer has his own customer's information in it. This improves customer's security as well as their confidence in Atlassian.

Do these AddOns really help people who have to send a backup of their Jira instance to enable Atlassian to reproduce errors on their site, without hurting GDPR?

In the EU the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) prohibits to deliver data to other companies which contain personally identifiable Information. So we cannot deliver backups to Atlassian to help to solve issues we have. For us this is  unsustainable.

Yes, no way should a company's list of userids and email addresses be in data that has been anonymized
