I just signed up as a new user to JIRA and the default selection of face avatars had more animal options than options for women (4 animals, 3 women). There's also more options for women than there are people of colour. Honestly the selection put me off from wanting to use JIRA.
We have a broad range of new Meeples of all skin colours and genders - are we able to add some of these in to help welcome everyone to JIRA?

Oddly enough, I found this page while looking up Jira's avatars after loving how there is a black avatar that I can pick! It made me happy and I now want to use it on other apps. I think they made a step toward the right direction and I def agree with you on how they need to improve on their options. It might be a small change but the small changes can def make the world more inclusive. Hopefully other people can experience the same joy I had when I was picking one.
So happy you spoke up about this!! 😍
P.s. I would focus test the elephant as it might symbolizes religious imagery. I know that was another reason why I did pick that avatar
