Subcomponent search in Project Category not available

Subcomponent - Splitting of a project into smaller manageable components

There is no ability in JIRA to search in a 'Project Category' for a 'subcomponent'

The search for subcomponent within a project is done in the following way (this exist today)

subcomponents("SUB", "Design", "true")

In subcomponents() JQL function you should define three parameters:
+projectKey +(String, mandatory)- key of the project to search in
+componentName +(String, mandatory) - name of the parent component in hierarchy
+includeParentComponent +(Boolean, optional, default=false) - include or skip issues for parent component name

What is needed
To be able to search a Project Category also and not just Project for componentName
