Issue Comment Notification not triggering if "Edit Screen" is used to add comment

      Problem Definition

      Issue Comment Notification not triggering if "Edit Screen" is used to add comment and only Issue Updated Notification is triggering.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Log in to JIRA (outbound email must be working, )
      2. Select any existing JIRA issue that you reported (Assign ticket to different user)
      3. Click on Edit and add any comment on below edit screen
      4. Click update

      Actual Results:
      The assignee will receive an email notification that issue has been updated.

      Suggested Solution

      The assignee should receive both Issue Updated and Issue Commented notification emails if comment is added using edit screen.

      Workaround

      • When adding a comment in a issue, just use the "comment" button in issue screen.
