Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
It seems that JQL editor has a preference on completing project names instead of project keys in JQL queries.
While this was probably seen as a feature that could make the JQL easier to read, in fact is a bug because the change of the JQL to become broken is probably 100x bigger when they are using project names.
Project names could change because the business decides to rename the project, or because the admins decide to improve the project name in order to help users find the projects easier.
Any change in the project name would break all JQLs that are using it.
If the JQL would use project key this would almost never happen as changing the project key was impossible until recent versions, and even now is not something that would be done easily.
For this reason I do think that JQL editor should favour usage of project keys inside JQL editor instead of project names.
