Over in Apache-land, there are certain administrative processes, like setting up a new committer's accounts, or creating a top-level project. For these, certain details must be captured. Eg for a new committer, one needs to know their preferred userid, email, CVS module karma required, vote URL and have a signed CLA.
Once JIRA has per-project per-type custom fields, all this data could be stored in a JIRA issue. It would then be nice if one could upload:
- a custom HTML interface for the issue entry form
- a custom "view" of the issue, specified as a template in some language (velocity, wiki etc).
This would be useful in many contexts, eg. for entering support requests. In these environments, JIRA would then effectively become an invisible back-end system. Issue entry and viewing could be completely integrated into a company's existing website.
