      I would like to be able to search for inactive users. An example would be
      assignee IS INACTIVE
      for being able to find issues assigned to users who left the company (and therefore might never be resolved). I tried this in 5.2.11 but didn't succeed. I also didn't find documentation about such a feature.

            [JRASERVER-34168] Add functionality to JQL to search for inactive users

             FREE app called JQL Booster Pack  very nice!

            reporter in componentLeads()  also working

            Deleted Account (Inactive) added a comment - - edited   FREE  app called  JQL Booster Pack   very nice!   reporter in componentLeads()  also working

            Hi everybody,
            If you are using Jira Server you can install the FREE app called JQL Booster Pack throught Atlassian Marketplace and use the requested functionality.

            After install this app, you should be able to create a query using inactiveUsers() function, that will allow you to find issues reported/assigned to inactive users.

            This is the complete information of this JQL function:

            Description:

            Perform searches based on inactive users that belong to the provided group.
            If any group is provided, it will return all users set as inactive in the system.

            Syntax inactiveUsers()
            inactiveUsers(group, ...)
            Available since v1.0.0-RELEASE
            Supported fields Assignee, Reporter, Voter, Watcher, custom fields of type User
            Supported operators IN , NOT IN
            Unsupported operators = , != , ~ , !~ , > , >= , < , <=
            IS , IS NOT , WAS , WAS IN , WAS NOT , WAS NOT IN , CHANGED

            Examples:

            • Find issues that have been created by any inactive user in 'EMEA' or 'LATAM' projects:

            creator IN inactiveUsers() AND project IN ("EMEA", "LATAM")

            • Find issues that are assigned to inactive users of group 'HelpDesk L1':

            assignee IN inactiveUsers("HelpDesk L1")

            Kinds regards.

            How is this closed? inactiveUsers() is an invalid function. Atlassian is terrible, this is why my leadership keeps trying to move us to VersionOne. Atlassian's feature set is trash and they clearly don't care about customers.

            This summer I will try to create the plugin for Cloud & Server ^^

            Even I am also looking for same issue, when will we get this feature in jql search function.

            +1 for this. It makes me laugh that Atlassian say "there's a plug-in available for this" - yet JQL tricks is not available on Cloud anyway. So what are Cloud users supposed to do?

            Has there been any additional thought to reopening this issue? Or, has a new issue been created to address this functionality?

            Hi, I was searching for the same functionality and found this issue. It seems to be closed by mistake as JIRA still does not have a way to search for inactive users. Should I create another issue, or will you reopen this one?

            I agree with the comments above. As a JIRA Admin, this functionality is increasingly important with the staffing changes we have faced. If you can display an 'Inactive' user status, you should be able to query this user a JQL function.

            Another of many unpleasant JIRA surprises. This should be "open", not "closed"

            Purchasing (yet another) plugin to solve a basic functionality like this is difficult

            I absolutely agree. It seems a bit strange to me that I have to purchase a plugin – for something that should be a part of the core.

            Hello,

            There are multiple things missing in the implementation of user deactivation.

            Looking at the atlassian company values, I would expect atlassian to solve this.
            Purchasing (yet another) plugin to solve a basic functionality like this is difficult, I can't go to my CFO each week for another plugin.

            One thing that is still missing, also in that plugin, is autocomplete.

            I have a external user which has created over 500 issues.
            When I (or some other user) wants to search for issues reported by this user, this is onlt possible if you know the jira username of that user.
            Apart from that all statistics in JIRA are broken for issues reported by or assigned to inactive users, but that's a different issue to report.

            Hi Isaac,

            The resolution is that there is a plugin on the marketplace that will let you do this (see my above comment) and we will not be making this a part of JIRA in the near future. If the plugin doesn't suit your needs could you please comment on why and what problems you're still having?

            Cheers,

            So what is the resolution? That you won't do it? Not now? Why not leave the issue open for others to vote/watch/comment?

            Hi Jens,

            Thanks for raising this with us. We are not currently working in this area so I've labeled your issue so that we can easily find it for future projects.

            In the mean time you can use this plugin to get a list of issues assigned to inactive users: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.j-tricks.jql-plugin

            Cheers,
