    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Problem Definition

When visiting a Jira Server site using a mobile browser, such as Chrome on an Android device, or Safari on an iOS device, Jira's mobile view does not offer the ability to transition an issue.

      Suggested Solution

Allow issues to be transitioned in this view

      Why this is important

Mobile view offers benefits to those platforms, it makes sense to offer them at least these basic functions in Jira as a means be able to work on issues when mobile.

      Workaround

It is possible to switch to desktop view to transition, but this is not an ideal experience.

      Original description:

If the transition is screen-based, the mobile UI should redirect user to the desktop view of the transition screen (warn the user first) and then complete the transition and return him to mobile view issue screen.

Mobile view should habe the same actions to execute as in the desktop version and the mobile app. Because sometimes app usage is not allowed in companies but web browse usage is on mobile devices to access Jira datacenter instances.

+1 to have this functionality in the mobile view. Considering lots of other complex tasks (creating sub-task, linking issue, editing description with rich text editor) are already there.

            Hi everyone,
I reopened this ticket, because I think this was honestly closed because at the time Atlassian was using the same project to track both Jira Cloud and Jira Server bugs/feature requests.   Since that time, Atlassian has rolled out the official Jira Cloud mobile app.   This works great if you're using a Jira Cloud platform.  However this does not support Jira Server.    As such I have re-opened this request for the time being.

            Regards,

            Andy

This is nuts guys!  A Mobile Transition or at least being able to "Approve" on the go should already be working.  This lack of "Feature" kills project flow if your approver is always on the go...

I would also like to reopen this issue. Since we are also self hosting we require a solution to transition on the go. Or open the mobile app to the self Hosters too.

Given the last response from Atlassian appears to be in January 2016 and is Cloud specific, can we please receive an update regarding self-hosted JIRA instances? Lack of issue transitions in the Mobile view is a gigantic shortcoming. Please advise on your plans either way. Thanks

We host our JIRA on our own, so the JIRA Mobile app is not available for us. Am I missing something, or is this still an issue almost a year and a half later?

            Hey mike1704439375,

We're currently building a native JIRA Mobile app which will be redefining the entire mobile experience for JIRA. Because of this, we won't be investing any direct resources in the JIRA browser application for mobiles.

I apologise if this isn't the answer you wanted, but hopefully we can deliver you an even better overall experience with the native application

Hello, I would like to see if it is at possible to re-open this issue. Being able to move an issue through states in jira is one of the core features of Jira.

The way I look at this is basically not being able to archive an email from your phone. This is currently a huge bottle neck for me and the rest of my team here at Gametime. I would love to see support for this added.

Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue.

Due to the large volume of JIRA feature suggestions, we have to prioritise our development efforts. In part, that means concentrating on those issues that resonate the most with our users.

I am writing this note to advise you, that we have decided to close your Suggestion as it has not gained traction on jira.atlassian.com. We believe being upfront and direct with you will assist you in your decision making rather than believing Atlassian will eventually address this issue.

Thank you again for your suggestion and if you have any concerns or question, please don’t hesitate to email me.
            Kind Regards,
