Hi everyone,

Jira Server 8.3.0-EAP01 is available for download and it includes database password encryption.

You can read more about available encryption options and steps to encrypt Jira database password here.

We invite you to test this solution in your staging environment and share your feedback with us either by leaving a comment here or via email to our feature lead at nwroblewska(at)atlassian.com.

Your feedback before Jira Server 8.3 general availability will help us improve the solution before it is released, so do not hesitate to share your findings with us.

Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

JIRA should Encrypt the database password since it's in plain text in the dbconfig.xml file or it could use the integrated authentication with the databases such as MSSQL database.
