Streams currently uses different formats for time an date:

      • Time. It is always the value specified in the field "Time Format" in the Look & Feel config page. The time if not displayed if the date is today.
      • Date. It varies, depending on the actual date:
        • For today's dates:
          • < 1 minute: "Moments ago"
          • < 2 minutes: "1 minute ago"
          • < 1 hour: "X minutes ago"
          • < 2 hours: "1 hour ago"
          • < 1 day: "X hours ago"
        • Yesterday: "Yesterday at time"
        • Last week: "dddd at time" (eg. Sunday at 09:00 am)
        • Last year: "m at time" (eg. 11 May at 09:00 am)
        • Older: "D at time" (eg. Sunday, 11 May 2014 at 09:00 am)

The time & date format specifiers are documented below:

Note: the format specifier a is translated to tt, so the default time format (h:mm a) is actually interpreted as (h:mm tt)

            Great,
It seems like it resolved "Last Monday" translation problem.

            I tested on 6.2.6.

It looks like section B uses Complete Date/Time Format in 6.2.6.
But I have no idea where configuration section A uses.
Does section-A use datejs yet ?

May I ask why this issue has been set to verified? The issue still exists and has not been resolved as far as I can see.

This issue apparently still exists in Jira 5.1.2 as you can see in the question I asked earlier today:

This is supposed to be fixed in JIRA 5.1, but we still need to verify.

In addition, an option to only show absolute date information would be very handy. As it stands, 5.0.7 already shows the 24:00 format but still uses 'yesterday' and 'Tuesday' etc.

Here in Sweden where we use 24h format, the AM/PM deal is a strange and alien concept to us. It would increase our productivity a lot if we could have the date/time format we desire so please make the activity stream follow the global time format, so that we may each read date and time in a format we have chosen ourselves.

More over, the preset date and time format in JIRA should be ISO8601 and not the crappy US format (yuck)!

I agree with previous comments, this is bad design, breaks consistency and should be fixed. According to Wikipedia 24h clock is the most commonly used time notation in the world today!

Guys, please solve this problem - it's very actual.

Anton, this is absolutely stupid design and breaks every consistency.
I do absolutely agree with Aksel and Maarten. ALL formats in the system must accord to the pattern properties.

I even dare to say that every country MUST use 24H format

            so please fix

Date and time format should be consistent through Jira. Many countries use 24hour time format. To claim "this is format is better" is not a very global thought.

            Please fix.

This is actually by design. I believe our thoughts were that this format is better.

If anyone else feels strongly about this, please add a comment to this issue.
