We have a two specific instances where we wish to have a custom date field which shows only on the close issue screen to default to the current date. Instead, it defaults to the date the issue was created. This field was removed from the default (edit) screens, and create issue screens, yet is showing the default date as the issue's creation date, not current date.

Would it be possible to apply the current date when the field is in 'edit' view rather than the issue creation date?
