Group By Role in Assignee field

      It will be great if Assignee field will show users with grouping by role. For example

      • Unassigned
      • Developers
        • John
        • Alice
      • Lead Developers
        • Bob

      Right now we doing that stuff with aspects (putting roles into context and replacing edit template for the field) but it is not so great solution and we want to contribute patch.
      Is it possible to add that functionality to the minor or major release?
