It is useful to auto-link a git commit/PR by using the Jira ticket but it's very easy to make a typo and enter the wrong ticket. When this error happens, the links created are hard to clean up without doing some Git-fu. I understand that for traceability you don't want to allow free reign to delete links but at a minimum, there should be a Jira admin function that allows overriding/removal of incorrect PR links.
