Issue Summary
Jira Software boards have a limit of 5000 issues. There is an existing feature request about such limitation: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-16259.
It is expected that the UI will show a message stating the need of updating your board's filter and/or giving the reason on why the board cannot show your issues.
Currently in Team-managed projects the UI will show a generic error message, sometimes even suggesting to contact support:
Our team has been notified. If the problem persists, please contact Atlassian Support.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a Team-managed project
- Activate the Backlog under Project settings -> Features
- Create more than 5000 issues in the project
- That can be done using a CSV import
Expected Results
The board will not load the issues and will present a message stating the reason + guidelines to work around that.
Actual Results
A generic error message is displayed, giving the idea that there was something wrong with the application.
Workaround
None at the moment.
