      Problem Definition

On the board of a company-managed Scrum project, once all subtasks are moved to 'Done' status, you receive a popup asking to update the parent issue to close it:

      Suggested Solution

Provide an option to suppress this popup.

      Why this is important

For certain cases, it's necessary to leave the parent task opened and it would be helpful if the popup doesn't appear every time.

      Workaround

      None.

Note that clicking Cancel will prevent the parent issue from moving to the Done column, but this phrasing is arguably confusing.

Jan de Beijer your solution did not work for me.
When I add a new column to the Scrum Board and do not map any status's into, the column is still showing on the Scrum Board.

            Thanks @Anusha Rutnam.
I am not asking to have the ability on the Kanban board. I am asking to remove the requirement of always having it popup on Scrumboard or at least explain what is causing it as on some projects it does and some project it does not popup. For some projects it is wanted and for some it is not.

Hello everybody, i mentioned before, but there is a work around:

Just put a extra colomn after the done column and put no transition in it, then the pop-up will not appear and the column is not visible on the board because there is no transition in it.
Jira will only check the last column, not the done column

I see it on some Scrum boards and not others. I can't figure out what the logic is for this.
@Atlassian please provide more details on this undocumented "feature"

I too am interested in this solution.
I actually want it on one of my projects and not the other.
It is super annoying on the project that is not wanted on and really bothering the user base.

Interestingly, on the project that I want it on, I had a status of Ready For UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and one for Done. I used to get prompted to move to either of the 2 status's, but now I am no longer prompted at all for this project, but on the other project I am still prompted. I can't figure out what is causing the prompt.

I tried the solution to add a column to the board after Done and not put any status's into it, but that didn't work, as the column (swimlane) now shows on the board and I don't want to display it.

I recon, this is another one of those requests which Atlassian will not do.

            Any work-arounds are welcome.

Yes @anusha, it does appear to me still, on company managed projects.

Update: I have edited the description to include that the pop-up appears on Scrum boards (it doesn't seem to on Kanban boards).

Do the watchers of this issue still see the pop-up appear? I can no longer see it when transitioning all subtasks of an issue to Done on the board of company-managed Jira Software project:

THanks Jan, for your contribution! I asked a colleague and we now fixed it by adding another status between "In Progress" and "Done" on the issuetype where the sub-tasks were created. Made some sense... but your solution is better! I implemented it and it works fine.
