Thank you for your suggestion regarding the use of display names instead of full names in Jira, including in notification sender names. Currently, Jira defaults to using full names, and there isn't a built-in option to universally switch to display names across all areas.

However, I understand the importance of this feature for your use case, and I will forward your feedback to our product team for consideration although we will not be implementing this for now. In the meantime, you can customize the sender name in notifications through project settings, although this may not fully achieve the desired outcome of using display names everywhere.

Sometimes, it is preferred to use a user's display name instead of their full name in Jira. The suggestion is to allow users the option to use the Display name instead of the full name everywhere in Jira , including the notification sender name.
