Add the same Description editor from the View/Edit screen to Issue type

      Problem:

      Currently, the editor to add a default value to the Description has fewer options than the editor when we are editing an issue.

      Suggestion:

      Add the same editor for both View/Edit and the Description field on the Issue type, so administrators can add a table and other information as the default value for the field.

            I would like to see this feature in the "Acceptance Criteria" field.
            This is the field where I add the most information. I need to be able to format the data using bullets, numbers, etc... I also need to be able to insert links, tables and screen shots.

            This seems like it should be a fairly straight forward update. Why have tickets for this feature been sitting open for nearly four years?

            The workaround you posted did not work for me. I just got the same literals as you typed. Having a table tool would cut down on a lot of manual work

            This feature needs to be added. Especially if it's already available to add a table within an existing issue.

            I need a table as a template inside of the "Issue Type" under Project Settings.

            Hi Angélica,

            I found a workaround that might help users who are waiting for this, adding the following Table values as a default in any Text area (with wiki rendered) will work after creating the issue 

             
            ||Table Header 1||Table Header 2||
            |Col A1|Col A2|

            Being able to add a table would be hugely beneficial for structured requirements like documenting tracking requirements for a component. Hope you can release this feature soon. Thanks!
