      Update 7 March 2024:

These endpoints now exist but are still experimental https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v3/api-group-issue-security-schemes/#api-rest-api-3-issuesecurityschemes-post

      Original Description:

      Problem Definition

At this moment, we don't have a REST API endpoint to edit Issue Security Levels. We can only GET the Issue Security Level in a given ID.

      Suggested Solution

Implement an endpoint that would allow editing the Issue Security Level so that we can automate the management of the Issue Security Levels, especially when there are a lot of them.

      Why this is important

This would make easier the management of the Security Level and we can also automate this management process.

      Workaround

      N/A

            Hi everyone!

We're looking to learn more about this use-case - is there anyone who has used the experimental endpoint and can share their experience in the comments below?

            Cheers,

Hi, we are building a plugin which automatically configures the project and should provide correct issue security levels for different members, but we cannot implement it since there is no api to add/update security levels and their properties in our case adding members to levels.
