      It would be nice if incoming and outgoing email log go to their own log files. It also should have logging levels so that user can set the level for email to Debug, Info ,Warn and Error accordingly.

      JIRA should:

      • log the outbound email only (one line per email with recipient and subject).
      • Log outbound and incoming email, but no logging of the check for mail operation (every minute)
