      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      There are some differences in functionality between the OnDemand & Server versions of Jira. Backups and Re-indexing come to mind . . . It would be good to be able to tell which deployment type is being used so that a script could act appropriately depending on which type it is connected to.

      Could you please add a deploymentType field to the result from "GET /rest/api/2/serverInfo"?

      {"deploymentType": "onDemand"}

      or

      {"deploymentType": "server"}

      ? Or maybe

      {"OnDemand: "True"}

      ?
