Popup Advert for Jira Insider stays up, blocks key buttons in upper-right corner when uBlock or AdBlock browser extensions are installed

Original Summary

On Safari 8.0.5, we noticed that JIRA Insiders popup appeared a couple days ago. Now, it doesn't disappear and blocks important JIRA scrum button and upper-right screen real estate.

Please disable this popup or have some way to close it.

Cause

This is caused by the uBlock / AdBlock extensions. A default install does not reproduce this.

Only once the 'fanboy-annoyance' block list is enabled this becomes an issue. It's quite liberal in what it blocks and seems to remove any UI elements (including forms) with the text 'newsletter' in them. That has the effect of also removing the close link from this popup.

Workaround

You can temporarily disable the fanboy annoyances list in either uBlock or Safari AdBlock (or the entire add-on if you'd prefer) to make the 'No thanks' button appear which will allow you to close the dialog.
