When using following JQL:
assignee changed from empty to currentuser()
not a single issue is returned. I have assigned a couple of unassigned issues to myself, but none was return by this query.
using
assignee changed to currentuser() after startofday() and assignee was empty after startofday()
returns those issues mentioned above which I assigned to myself.
