Currently, it is not possible to change the transition button color. As a user, I would like the ability to change the color of transition buttons (background color) so that it will make it easier for the new users to use JIRA.

[JRASERVER-41519] Ability to change the transition button color

Things, that would help a ton too:

            • Being able to group transition buttons into a cascading dropdown menu, but to the side. Basically grouping dropdown inside the Workflow dropdown.
            • Or at least sections, like the line between the system transition buttons and the custom user-made transition buttons.

If anyone knows how to do this and can point me in the right direction?

Tomas, I tried this add on and unfortunately, it is only for transition buttons, not statuses/steps.

I can't seem to find the property keys for statuses

Guys, there is a free solution for that, just use https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1216222/alkaes-field-administration-enhanced?hosting=server&tab=overview doesn't make sense to wait for this to be implemented.

I raise my hand too. This would be a very useful UX-based help for many of our users.

It was terrible mistake to change the YELLOW color of the IN PROGRESS status button to BLUE, because there is almost no difference with the TO DO status, one is BLUE and the other is BLUER ???, return the YELLOW color or give us the ability to change it and choose the right one.

We just stumbled on this issue today because we wanted to highlight a specific workflow button.
When I think about it, more uses are possible: color coding of buttons for different branches or products according to your business' corporate identity, colors for different responsibility levels, e.g. send to 1st level support, send to 2nd level support, send to manager, a red "Escalate this Issue" button, different button colours for each used issuetype (making it easier to remeber in which workflow you are working) and many more.

Edit: This feature will make using the workflows easier for every user, not just for new users.
