Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
Our use of JIRA Agile onDemand consists of a strict association of 1 issue to 1 sprint. We use a single main board called 'Release' and we release software weekly, which is also the Sprint cadence.
Recent changes to the Sprint ID, made it such that an issue can no longer assigned to a completed sprint or removed from a completed sprint. Only active and future sprints can be selected when editing the Sprint ID.
In this specific case, I have single issue which was initially closed 1 or more weeks back, hence assigned to a now completed sprint. The issue has now been reopened and I need to update the Sprint from the old to the current open sprint. However, I cannot do that and I am only allowed to add the new sprint, not replace it to the old completed sprint. In the past this was entirely possible.
It would be advisable to allow this based on a configuration parameter or permit the change only to a select group of people (e.g. administrators).
