      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      When you have JIRA connected to an LDAP server where users don't have an e-mail attribute, you can edit the email field in JIRA, but the null value from LDAP will overwrite the edited field every time the User Directory synchronizes in JIRA.

      It would be great if users could choose to have the email attribute synched from LDAP or not.
