Description
Summary
We just upgraded to v6.0.8#6109-sha1:57cf099 last week, and since then, I've had numerous complaints about a hover hint that won’t stay dismissed whenever a ticket is opened.
The hint has the text:
“Hint: Press , to jump to fields for editing
Show other keyboard shortcuts”
And appears at the top, in the middle of the screen. You can close it by clicking the x, but it comes right back every time a ticket page is opened.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open an issue and clear the popup.
- Go to the admin section.
- Go back to that issue.
Expected Results
The popup doesn't appear.
Actual Results
The popup comes back and doesn't want to vanish.
Notes
There are some other ways to make the popup keep coming back. Reported by other customers:
Looks like IE9 is just as susceptible. Here are my observations for IE9:
- If I browse an issue, close the popup, then go straight to another issue via the URL (i.e. jira/browse/XXXX-100) then the popup does not occur. I can access any issue this way without the pop-up re-appearing.
- If I then access a Project page i.e. *http://jira/browse/XXXX*, or the dashboard, the popup will reappear on the first issue I browse following accessing the project page or dashboard.
Under FF 23.0.1:
- Any issue I browse via direct URL / hyperlink has the pop-up.
Here's the kicker:
IE9 / FF23.0.1: Any CLOSED issue does NOT cause the hint to popup again.
This appears to be caused due to an error with REST, as per the attached screenshot.
Workarounds
Some users have found a workaround for this, though it involves some manipulation of the system. Please ensure to backup your files/system before attempting:
