      Currently, the Embedded Crowd plugin on JIRA for the user management system is not able to connect to the LDAP proxy server for the user authentication. As explain in the Technet article since the user proxy is not including all user attributes, user password for example, JIRA is not able to pick up the necessary attribute value as the reference for the password check, as consequence, JIRA is able to synchronize the user but the user is not able to login due the password issue.

      Consider the user proxy server will bring some value for the user repository protection, so it will be great to implement the feature in JIRA to support that kind of authentication.
