Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
Sometimes we need to solve and release just an issue which is a crash bug that needs to be solved fast, a hotfix, you know, and therefore we need to create a new fix version just for that issue.
With the actual approach you must travel to Projects / MyProject / Versions / etc. and thus spending more time creating the new version than the fulfilling the issue report itself. Also you should create the version before the issue so it is available in the "Fix version" field.
Now, if you enter a non existent version into that field JIRA will complain about it. I think it could be more productive if, instead of that, it gives you the option of automatically generate that version from the issue form.
