      It is painful to the customers that uses IE to browse JIRA on intranet site as they would need to manually turn off the compatibility mode since JIRA does not support compatibility mode.

      Looking from there, customer would like to have the feature on JIRA to force IE not to use compatibility mode. Actual Quote from customer as shown below:

      as JIRA5 does not work with compatability mode well, please can your development team update the code to force JIRA not to run in mode (i.e. ignore local internet settings). This is what most application teams (and many of our internal ones) do when they know their site/application does not work well in compatability mode.
