The current workflow designer is very clumsy and takes huge amount to time to format existing workflow design. Given the problems mentioned by other users, it would be good to allow uploading of images directly.

      Advantages:

      • There are good and easy designers in the market which generates images, those images are very to upload (Like Avatars).
      • Sometimes we edit the workflow and skip some statuses. However, we cannot remove those statuses from WF because WF is active. It never use to be visible before but now you see the obsolete status like an island in the WF diagram.

[JRASERVER-29247] Workflow designer should allow to upload images.

            Hi Everyone,

Although a good suggestion, we will not be implementing this feature. We will be looking at a solution to this problem in the next 12 months.

Thanks for your votes and comments.

Please feel free to leave your comments on the JAC issue relating to the workflow diagram improvement.

One of the plus points of the original design is that the diagram will also show the current state of the workflow by colouring the current status box.

In addition: Jira itself could use this image too, after carefully organizing the workflow in the workflow designer you can store the workflow as an image.

If Jira were to store that image itself as well and use that to present the workflow with there would be no need for external editors and Jira work work as expected out of the box.
