Description
NOTE: This bug report is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.
Some countries observe DST(Daylight Saving) in various time of the year (depending on which hemisphere). During this period, regions's timezone is at GMT+X instead of the standard GMT+(X-1) (i.e. GMT+11 instead of GMT+10). However, Jira user profile does not account for daylight saving time, and it's showing GMT+10 instead of GMT+11 (for Sydney):
Despite wrong GMT zone time is calculated properly.
This is reproducible on Data Center: yes
Steps to Reproduce
- Go to User Profile -> Preferences -> Update User Preferences
- Select Region with DST present at this moment
Expected Results
During the DST period(i.e. for Sydney it's from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April), should be at GMT+(X+1).
Actual Results
Region's timezone is at GMT+X instead of the standard GMT+(X+1) during DST.
Workaround
If you want to stop Jira from trying to accommodate DST, you can use the static GMT offset instead:
