Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
Clarify the instructions on moving/removing the JavaMail JARs in the SMTP configuration:
http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+JIRA+to+Send+SMTP+Mail
http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/v3.13.5/smtpconfig.html
We should instruct people to check for the existence of the JARs in the app server and move/replace accordingly, rather than giving them specific instructions based on their specific app server.
Reason: Some operating systems, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, ship the JARS with Tomcat while most do not. So we cannot base the instructions on the specific app server.
Info: I have already updated the instructions on CAC:
http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+JIRA+to+Send+SMTP+Mail
To be done: Update the instructions for JIRA 3.13 – as requested by a customer:
http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/v3.13.5/smtpconfig.html
