Also see http://glassbox.com/confluence/display/GLASSBOX/SourceForge+Issue+Import+Process where some guy managed to do this.

I would also vote for such an import tool.

Voted for this bug. This is not only a convenience issue : a lot of OpenSource projects still rely on SourceForge for historical reasons, but are only waiting for a good opportunity to switch to a more powerful bug tracker. (and I'm not going to detail here the reasons why SourceForge tracker can not even be considered decent anymore)

Trac has a feature to import Sourceforge tickets, and I believe that this is the only bug tracker that allows this.

I do need this feature, true, but I seriously think that having such a tool would greatly improve JIRA's popularity.

        Hi Nicolas,

I certainly see what you mean. Our greatest challenge is prioratising feature requests such as this, as we have a lot of feature requests (thousands) and we can only do some of them at an acceptable level of quality. We do our best to deliver as much value as we can with every JIRA release.

At the moment this feature is not planned. For available options for importing data into JIRA please see:
        http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Migrating+from+other+issue+trackers

It is also possible to involve an Atlassian Partner who can help you with this. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to:

        Cheers,
        Anton
