Version custom fields not available for use in statistics portlets (not statable)

Just to record an observation:

JIRA 3.x allows Version custom fields, which ought to be selectable in the (project) statistics portlet. It appears to have been fixed somewhere between 3.5.2 and 3.6.4, where it is available as a 'statable' field.
