      Issue Summary

Currently, when a group is granted access to any Atlassian product (Jira, Confluence, etc.), all members of that group, including suspended users, receive an email notification. This can lead to confusion since suspended users don't have actual access to the site. This occurs because notifications are sent based on group membership, irrespective of the user's suspension status.

      Proposed Solution

Update the notification system to check users' suspension statuses before sending notifications. Notifications should only be sent to active users who have access to the product.

      Workaround

While waiting for this feature to be implemented, administrators can follow these steps to manage notifications and group memberships:

      Review Group Membership:

      • Navigate to the admin portal (admin.atlassian.com).
      • Search for the groups which contain suspended users.
      • Ensure that suspended users are removed from these groups to prevent them from receiving future notifications related to access changes.
