Enhance Org-Level Audit Logs to Include Product Addition Activities

    • 1
    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Description:

Currently, our organization-level audit logs don't capture events related to when a product is added to a site. This lack of visibility poses challenges in tracking changes and maintaining accountability. It is crucial for Organization Admins to have a clear record of such activities for auditing and compliance purposes.

      Feature Request:

      1. Event Logging: Introduce a new event type in the org-level audit logs that tracks whenever a product is added to a site.

      • Details to Capture:
        • Product Information: Include details such as product name and any relevant attributes.
        • User Information: Capture the full name, username, and role of the person who added the product.
        • Timestamp: Record the exact date and time when the product was added.
        • Site Information: Log the site details where the product was added.

      2. Audit Log Accessibility: Ensure these logs are easily accessible to users with appropriate permissions, such as Organization Admins.

      3. Notification Option (Optional): Provide an option to enable notifications to specific users or groups when such events occur, allowing for immediate awareness and response.

      Benefits:

      • Enhanced Accountability: By logging these activities, we can ensure that changes are traceable to specific users, enhancing accountability and transparency.
      • Improved Security: Monitoring changes at this level helps detect unauthorized or unintended modifications, thus improving overall security.
      • Compliance Support: Detailed audit logs support compliance with internal policies and external regulations, providing necessary documentation during audits.
