I'm fully aware of this ticket: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CWD-1822
Given the clear user and administrator desire for this feature and the fact that the vast majority of companies DON'T use Google Apps and DO use Active Directory in some fashion even if it is in the cloud, it seems imperative that Atlassian re-evaluate its insistence that it won't support SAML natively outside of Google Apps.
Is there a rationale why you're doing this? Because I'm now tasked with finding a solution that cuts Atlassian out completely given your intransigence.

ID-80 Support SAML integration with Cloud apps
- Closed
Hey Charles,
We have a full SAML2 compliant solution for Atlassian applications if you are interested, tested with SAML2 providers such as SFDC and Siteminder. Our solution was in fact "sponsored" by CA, the vendor of Siteminder, and they are using it for their own Confluence (wiki.ca.com).
We also provide a turnkey hosting solution with 24x7 support and Atlassian management (an almost OnDemand experience) if you just want to use the application and not worry about the hosting and maintenance hassles yourself. With this, you get benefits of both worry-free hosting and also the flexibility of using solutions such as SAML2. Many big customers have opted to use this model, again CA is one of them, eBay, and Neiman Marcus, just to name a few.
Let us know if you are intersted, send us mail at info@appfusions.com.
