Description
Problem Definition
- When trying to change the Atlassian account password via id.atlassian.com > Security > "Change your password", it's not obvious that the "Current password" field is mandatory
- Some users are trying to change their password because the current password is not known to them - access to the Atlassian account can be granted via a magic link or via an already active session
Suggested Solution
Why this is important
- Some users have logged in via a magic link and don't know their password
- Some users have forgotten their password, but still have an active session - they'd like to reset their password but don't know how to reset their password
- Can cause friction because customers may be under the impression that their account doesn't have a password, but they are prompted for a password in order to be able to change their password
Workaround
- Users must enter their current password and new password in order to enable the "Save changes" button
- Atlassian account passwords can be reset via https://id.atlassian.com/login/resetpassword - users will need to log out if not logged out already
