Allow Hipchat notifications of Confluence changes at a level more granular than by Space

Confluence allows notifications based on certain configurable activities within a space to appear in a team room in Hipchat - this is awesome! However, this isn't nearly granular enough for our teams. Please allow the setting of a virtual "root" for this purpose at a lower level than a Confluence Space. This would be super helpful, but only if we can make it more specific! Out of the teams we have here (probably ~ 30) only a handful could use this feature as it stands.

Stride and Hipchat Cloud End of Life: Just over 90 days away

We recently announced that we would be discontinuing our team messaging tools, Stride and Hipchat, and will therefore be closing out all related feature requests and open issues. The end of life date for Stride and Hipchat Cloud is February 15, 2019. Until that time, we will only issue product updates for security issues or critical bugs.

If you are an existing Hipchat Server or Data Center customer and feel like this issue has been closed in error, please contact support to let us know.

Our recommended migration path is to Slack - you can read more about this and other options at Stride and Hipchat Cloud End of Life: Just over 90 days

Thank you for your input on this ticket and for being a valued Atlassian customer.

Just so this remains a light in a tunnel full ideas, I'm posting in agreement to the OP. Linking to HipChat would be way more useful if we could associate only certain pages/subpages to applicable HipChat rooms.

On our team space we post our projects and then drill down to various parts of it. When there is an update for one project, I don't want to update HipChat rooms related to projects other than the one I'm updating.

I 100% agree with the OP.

It would be stupendously useful if we could have alerts about PAGE activity sent to a HipChat ROOM.

Rooms are for groups, and groups often need to know what's going on with a page that corresponds to that group....they don't need to know about anything that gets updated in the whole SPACE.

Think about it this way.  You set up a TESTING space, and within that you have rooms for Software, Hardware, etc.  You don't want the software folks to get an alert in their Software HipChat room everytime the Hardware folks update their page within the same SPACE.
