Hi Everyone,

We have started working on making HipChat data center as an installable application, as updated in this HCPUB ticket. Making HipChat data center an installable will enable two things:

If you are unable to run HipChat data center because of the current VMWare image with ubuntu, the installable will allow you to run it on your operating system of choice.
HipChat data center as an installable opens up the possibility of having HipChat on docker containers if that is what you have standardized on.

Please vote, watch and comment on the aforementioned HCPUB ticket, if HipChat as an installable application will meet your needs. We will make periodic updates to that ticket as we move forward.

We use Docker to manage our infrastructure, and it would be great to run HipChat Server via Docker.

It would be really slick to setup a server with a command such as:
docker run -d hipchat/server
