Description
Summary
In v2.2.4, the one-to-one (OTO) email notifications format has been changed to include the user avatar in the message as well as additional CSS, which causes the format of email notifications to scale vertically. This makes reading the email difficult on mobile email readers (such as Mail for iOS)
Environment
HipChat Server v2.2.4
Steps to Reproduce
- Trigger a one-to-one (OTO) email notification by messaging an end user that is in offline status.
- This will fire an email to the end user.
- Have the end user read this email in their mobile email client (like Mail for iOS devices)
Expected Results
The message in the email should be easily readable
Actual Results
The message in the email is formatted in a vertical manner, making it difficult to read (compared to a HCS v1.4.2 email notification)
Workaround
Aside from turning the phone to read the email in 'landscape' mode on your mobile device, there is no direct workaround at the moment.
