      Problem Definition

Associating a static IP to HipChat Server should require setting a netmask and gateway for the primary NIC but not all of them.
Setting two default gateway will results in the instance being unreachable on one of the interfaces depending on the order of the default routes in the routing table.

      Suggested Solution

Make -netmask and -gateway optional with hipchat network

      Workaround

      1. Set the secondary NIC with a netmask and gateway
      2. Manually remove these from /etc/network/interfaces and /home/admin/config/etc/network/interfaces
      3. Restart services
        hipchat upgrade --restart
