Specific rooms are not appearing in HipChat desktop client

Summary

There are specific rooms in a group that are not searchable in the desktop client hence it is not possible to open these rooms. At the same time, it is possible to open the rooms using the web application.

Environment

• HipChat server 1.3.4
• HipChat server 1.3.7
• HipChat Server 1.3.9
• Mac client 4.25.0
• Windows client 4.0.1650
• Windows client 4.26.1

Steps to Reproduce

• Log in to the desktop client
• Search for the room

Expected Results

All rooms should be searchable and loaded in the desktop client. Web app and desktop client should reflect the same data returning the same rooms.

Actual Results

In the desktop client it is not possible to open/access specific rooms.

Workaround

Log in to the web app to search for the room

Another possible workaround for desktop clients includes clearing the Client Preferences and logging back into HipChat. Some users running Mac OS El Capitan have reported success by following the steps linked below. This may work for those running older Mac OS releases as well:
